Where are you Located?

The Vanguard Academy is easily located inside Norton Commons at 9306 Dayflower Street. You can enter Norton Commons from Chamberlain Lane onto Norton Commons Boulevard and take the first right onto Dayflower. A professional office building will be directly in front of you and the Academy is on the right corner of the street.

What are your Hours?

The Academy’'s hours are from 7:00am until 6:00pm, five days a week year around. Our half-day enrichment classes are from 8:45 till noon. Our academic year, for children 6 weeks through Kindergarten starts mid-August through the end of May. Our summer camp program, which also includes school age students ages 5-12, starts the 1st week of June through the 1st week of August.

About Us

Some of the wonderful features you'll notice when you walk through our doors include:--Most of our teachers have or are working on their CDA or bachelor degrees in Early Education.--Most of our teachers are CPR and First Aid certified.--Security codes are required for the entrance into the school.--Security cameras are installed in all classrooms and can be viewed at all times by visiting parents.--We have a PTA here to maintain parent involvment. --All staff use electronic key entry into building which is logged into our security system for safety and regulation of facility use.--Computers are being added to select classrooms to expand learning curriculums.

The Vanguard Academy is located in the Community of Norton Common's

The Vanguard Academy opened as a brand new school in February 2008. We offer over 12,000 square feet of temperature controlled classroom space and an outdoor playground area providing over 6,000 square feet of activities. In August 2011, THe Vanguard Academy expanded into Junior Kindergarten and Kindergarten and added a 3000 square foot indoor facility. Our Academy offers theme based programs focusing on math, music, language arts, foreign language and other areas which will prepare your child for a successful transition to kindergarten through our qualified staff of 70+ people that plan and implement the educational goals of our students each day.Nestled in the picturesque community of Norton Commons in Louisville's northeast neighborhood, we offer fulltime, part -time and our half day program for students 6 weeks through Kindergarten.

Early Childhood Enrichment Programs

We offer high quality, theme based curriculums which include: reading, writing, math, social studies and multicultural teachings delivered through thematic activities designed to foster interest and enthusiasm for learning. Our students develop independence, self control and self esteem needed to give your child the confidence to succeed. Advanced activities also include: Computers and Spanish.

Our academic year, for children 6 weeks through Kindergarten, starts mid-August through the end of May. Our summer camp program, which also includes school age students ages 5-12, starts the 1st week of June through the 1st week of August. The size of each class is normally set below state ratios. Our hours are from 7:00 am until 6:00 pm, five days a week all year. Our half-day enrichment classes are from 8:45 till noon.

Full-Time Programs: M-F 7am -6pm Part-Time Programs Two -Three Days/wk

Half Day Enrichment Programs Hours: 8:45am-Noon

Summer Camp: June 4th - August 10th, 2012 For ages 5-12 years of age
